Time to Shine?

It's been a while...I don't need to tell you that.
I've forgotten about my Gray Photography Facebook Page.
I forgot about this blog.
But through all that, I have not forgotten about my passion: photography!

Just uploaded a whole bunch of photos on my Facebook Page and now I'm writing a blog post!

Life has been tossing me around and pushing me against the walls a bit lately and right now my current job position is up in the air...I'm jobless. Maybe this is my chance to REALLY get my Gray Photography going?? I will soon have the space for it, and a whole lot of time. I am reading articles, and newspapers and doing a lot of thinking.

Maybe now is my time to shine??

Photographic Journey: Newborn

What's not to love about newborn babies? Their cute, soft, smell good....except when they poo. And pee, & puke. Ok, and maybe they can be really loud when they cry.....

Why I love it: It shows a more loving & nurturing side to people that isn't shown often.

What I find challenging: Everything!! This is my most challenging category for me. New mothers+fragile babies+stranger taking photos=awkward!! I don't want to hurt the child or cause alarm to the mother & once the baby starts crying(which has happened every time so far!!) my face gets really hot with shame & embarrassment.

What's Next: A nephew is on the way so stay tuned for photos....of a crying baby I'm sure!

Photographic Journey: Individuals

Out of all the categories of Photography that I offer Individual Portraits are my favorite.

Why I love it: It let's me get really creative. I love doing just the normal "pretty girl" photo shoot but I also love when they dress up and put on crazy amounts of makeup.

What I find challenging: Sometime's it can get awkward. The silence is not my friend, and making conversation while I'm thinking of poses really quickly and directing my client is very difficult for me. I have found that playing music helps ease the tension or any feelings of awkwardness.

What's next: Hopefully a fall fairy themed photo-shoot this Autumn season!

Another Wedding!

I'ts been a while. But I'm back!

I had the amazing opportunity to be a wedding photographer! Again! This wedding was way easier than my last one and way more simple and low-key. I was still able to learn a great deal though!

Photo Session: L.W

I was really excited to do this photo shoot. We were going for an dark fantasy look and I think we did a good job. These were taken in a forested area off a dirt trail. I had a lot of fun with this shoot because I've always wanted to do a dark themed session, and I'm happy with the results. The model knew how to pose well without too much direction which is always appreciated, although I did throw in a few of my own ideas. Below are 3 separate photos.
