Beach Photo Shoot

These past 2 weeks have been a photo mania. I was able to have the great opportunity to capture my friends wedding, and for fun I did a beach photo shoot. It was my first time doing a high fashion shoot although there wasn't anything too high fashion about it. The shots came out really well and my model was amazingly beautiful. 1st Wedding Booking!

On Sat. June 12, 2010 I witnessed my best friend get married. She asked me to be her photographer and since this blog is all about my rise to 'fame' of getting my photography started, I will bare all. It was the hardest thing I have ever done photography wise. I knew that a wedding photographer did a lot of work and that it's a super important-and rewarding-job. That is why at first I didn't say yes. I didn't actually say yes for a few months. I was wary of my 'skills' and nervous that I wouldn't do a good enough job. But her and her fiance(now husband!) wanted me to do there photos because they love my style of photography and think I do a good job. Why else would they also have me do there engagement photos? But I will say it again. It was the hardest job I have ever done photography wise. All the polite yelling to get people where they need to be. All the posing. All the countdowns before I press the shutter button. All the other people exepecting supurb shots. All the people wondering if my work is good enough. Some of them not thinking my work is good enough. Being in charge, a leader. I am grateful I was given this opportunity because I learned a lot of things. I realized my strengths, my weakness', things I would like to work on, things I need to work on. I realized how good it felt to say that "Yes, I am the photographer". I also learned that a wedding photographer I am not. I'm not saying the photos turned out bad. I'm just saying I don't think it's my forte. Maybe I'll practise more on my weak points and consider it again. Unfortantly I am not home which means I cannot give you sample shots. You're just gonna have to wait!

Beauty All Around

New born Photo Shoot

A few days ago I had the pleasure of doing my first payed new born baby photo shoot! How exciting! And nerve wracking. "Are my photos really good enough to be payed for??" I started thinking. Of course they are!! It felt soooo good to get payed for my work and to make some money. My hubs was super proud of me too! And for a talent/something I love doing!
At first it didn't go so well....the baby cried a lot and had to be fed...then burped...then changed. Finally she was ready. After some little unexpected mishaps with the baby posing in the basket the mother and I were able to work together, and I was able to take some super cute shots.

Website/Facebook Page

After much thought I decided to create a Gray Photography Page on Facebook. Some of you might wonder why I did this when I just got a Group not too long ago. Well, let me explain. I had originally wanted to make a Page but did not realize that a Page and Group were so different. I should have clued in and looked around more when I noticed I could not make photo albums on my Page...but alas I got ahead of myself and let me exitedness take over therefore I created the Gray Photography Page. Not too long after I find out about the Pages and thought about this. I didn't want my 'Fans' getting exasperated and annoyed that they now have to become Fans on my Page.....so I apologize. For now my Group will still continue but after a while I may close it down. My Gray Photography Page will be my #1 priority. CLICK HERE to become a Fan and to check it out.

I also have finished my website. I realize that things will not be perfect on it yet and I may change a few things now and again but I would love for you all to check it out. Finding the Beauty

Urge

It feels like I haven't done a photo shoot for a while even though I did one for my brother in law in mid February. There are some photographic moments I do want to seize one day. My youngest sister in law is so pretty. I can tell she likes to model and loves having her picture taken and one day I want her as my model. I would do a high fashion photo shoot with gold paint and everything...but I might be revealing too much. I need to work up the courage to ask her; still.
Another sister in law just had a baby girl. They will be visiting us in April for the baby shower and I am making plans to do a newborn baby photo shoot. I have not yet done one of these(besides the few photos I was able to do of my niece in the hospital) so I am pretty excited. Hopefully these ideas will come to fruition and I will have some new photos and posts for you guys to read! In the mean while here are some photos that I had mentioned in this post.
